My capitalist kids are learning that pocket money doesn't grow on responsibili-trees
I think we've finally cracked the chores/pocket money conundrum.
“How much will you pay me if I clean my room?”
Ladies and gentlemen - let me introduce you to my youngest. At some point, in the evolution of Bo Harper Sims, she decided that completing her responsibilities as a functioning human in the microcosm of our semi-detached in North West London, required a financial reward.
It was time for a come-to-Jesus chat with the newest of my progeny.
“Let’s chat about the difference between chores and responsibilities,” I said as she rolled her eyes. She clearly hadn’t been aware that her request would result in a life lesson and she wasn’t in the mood. Never the less, I persisted.
